SSV Hamm 1 V 1 Vintage Clarets

Group Game 2: Hamm Stadium, Saturday 23rd May 2015, K.O 3:40pm
Report by Steve Bott

THE hosts proved a tough nut to crack – especially when they rattled one in from 25 yards out in the ninth minute.

Clarets’ keeper Dickie Lee had no chance although he tried gamely to reach the ball as it rocketed into his top right hand corner.

That put a bit of a dampener on things but within three minutes the VCs were level when Liam Robinson executed a precision finish as he bent the ball into the net after Alex Kevan’s fine pass had found him in space on the left hand side of the penalty area.

That was the score at half-time and that’s how it finished despite a number of substitutions, one of which saw Graham Lancashire sent back on three minutes after having been taken off himself in an emergency move after Paul Atkinson sustained  a dead leg that ruled him out of the rest of the tournament.

TEAM (4-4-2): Lee – Lancashire, Oghani, Atkinson, Hussein – Borland, Kevan, Hill, Maylett – Eli, Robinson.
