The Vintage Clarets squad is blessed with some great talent and personalities – with players representing Burnley as far back as the late 80’s and 90’s, with the likes of John Deary, David Hamilton, Andy Farrell, Roger Eli, Paul Atkinson, George Oghani, Peter Mumby and Graham Lancashire to David Eyres, Liam Robinson, Gerry Harrison, Chris Scott, Phil Eastwood, Paul Weller, Jamie Hoyland, Alex Kevan, Brad Maylett and Andy Payton.

We even had a rare appearance from Ade Akinbiyi and Frank Sinclair in a match at Haslingden St Mary’s back in 2014!!

Not only that, but such is the attraction of Vintage Clarets, many famous Ex Clarets have taken up the role of guest manager in recent games, including the likes of Stan Ternent, Frank Casper, Willie Morgan, Ian Britton and even former England Women’s goal keeper, Rachel Brown!

In 2015, the Vintage Clarets topped off a fantastic calendar year by winning the Annual Veterans Tournament in Hamm, Germany at the fourth time of asking, competing against the likes of Bradford City and local favourites Hertha Berlin. The Clarets went on to win the final 2-1 against local side TuS Germania Lohauserholz with goals from John Borland and Liam Robinson.

European Success! Germany 2015!

So as European Champions (in a round-about way… ), Vintage Clarets are looking to help more local causes and charities to maximise their potential fundraising activities through football.
